Condition: Repetitive Strain Injury
“I use a computer as part of my job, and after a particularly busy period of work I began to experience intense pain and numbness in my right arm, shoulder and back. It got so bad I couldn’t bear to use the arm, couldn’t lie down flat on a bed, and had difficulty driving. I was referred to Janine after going to my GP and she quickly diagnosed a form of Repetitive Strain Injury. She explained how the nerves in my arm had become inflamed, and treated me with massage and also acupuncture, which I had never experienced before but proved to be very effective.
The worst of the pain very soon subsided, and after a few weeks disappeared completely. Janine also advised me on the correct posture to adopt at my workstation to avoid the problem re-occurring, and also gave me exercises to do to alleviate the effects of using the keyboard and mouse.

“Whilst driving home one day I was hit from behind by another car whilst stationary at a junction. At first I thought I was OK, but within a short time my neck and shoulders became stiff and painful. My doctor sent me to see Janine and she told me I had suffered a whiplash injury, which had affected the muscles and nerves in that area. A programme of massage and manipulation combined with acupuncture seemed to quickly alleviate the pain, and I regained the full movement of my head from side to side, which had been very limited.
